Nottingham Cathedral Choir and the recently formed Youth Choir will be performing Bach's sublime work the St John Passion on Saturday March 29th at 7:45pm as we prepare for Holy Week.
We are excited to be collaborating with the Musical and Amicable Society an East Midlands based period ensemble who the choir have worked with for previous performances before the pandemic.
We are also delighted to be working with the outstanding Joshua Ellicott.
Born in Manchester, the British tenor kick started his career in 2006 by winning the majority of the prizes at the prestigious International Vocal Concours in 's-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands. Since then he has continued to further his career in many directions, taking in the varied fields of opera, concert and song in music from across the centuries - even to the present day, to works written with his voice in mind.

This exciting performance given in English is a great opportunity to hear Bach's great work in an immediate and didactic manner, allowing for deeper reflection on the Passion of Christ, as we draw nearer to Holy Week.
