The Friends' Spring Lecture
An illustrated talk by Judge Michael Stokes KC on the Marian Reformation.
"Defending the Fort ~ The reaction of the Marian Bishops to the Elizabethan Religious Settlement 1558-1580."
An illustrated talk by Michael Stokes, KC, DL, MA, LL.B. The title comes from the words of St John Fisher while detained in the Tower of London in 1534/5. “The Fort is betrayed even of those who should have defended it. And therefore, seeing the matter is thus begun, and so faintly resisted on our parts, I fear that we be not the men that shall see the end of the misery.” The evening should be fun, engaging and relaxed.
A glass of wine or non-alcoholic alternative included. All proceeds to the Friends of the Cathedral.
Tickets can be booked via the link or through the Cathedral Office.
