Come and see a demonstration of how our Conservators are applying gilding techniques.
See the traditional craft of gilding and discover how it is being used in the restoration of Nottingham Cathedral.
Our interns will demonstrate techniques used to reproduce and reinstate the original gilded decoration associated with Pugin’s designs.
The demonstration will give visitors an opportunity to see the process of applying and finishing gold leaf and to understand the skill, precision and craftsmanship required to recreate the historic decoration.
