The Nottingham Cathedral Music Charitable Trust was set up in January 2018 to promote and advance music and music education at or in connection with the Cathedral Church of St Barnabas, Nottingham.
The charity is currently managed by the Nottingham Roman Catholic Diocesan Trustees (Charity No. 1134449) working in close collaboration with the Cathedral's Director of Music.
The Trust has had its first major success in receiving support from Arts Council England to fund its collaboration with Streetwise Opera and Music for Everyone to performance Tobias and the Angel, a community opera by Jonathan Dove and David Lan, in June 2018.
The Music Department are now working in partnership with the National Schools Singing Programme to deliver a Singing Strategy for schools in the Diocese.
The Cathedral relies on the generous support of individuals to fund the work of the Choral Scholarships and our Youth Choir.
All donations, no matter what the amount, make a huge difference to the work of the Music Department and with your support we can continue to help more children and young people to reach their full potential through music.
